Branson- the Shows

One of the big draws of Branson for us are the shows.  They are wholesome, uplifting, and entertaining.  Most honor military veterans.  Following are some pictures of the shows we saw.  I've listed them in our favorites order:
1.  Our favorite show was a production show on the life of Christ called Jesus. We were a little nervous about it, hoping it would not be sacrilegious.  It was the opposite.  It's purpose was to teach the life of Christ and bring us closer to Him.  The special effects were amazing.  Here are some pictures I took of the production.  I didn't realize it when I was taking them, but I think they almost look like paintings. The colors and scenes were just beautiful.

Sermon on the Mount

Casting merchants out of the temple

There were many animals in the production, including these sheep that ran right by us in the aisle.

Lazarus raised from the dead

Hosanna!

The triumphal entry and waving of the palms

Jesus washing the apostles' feet at the last supper.

Jesus telling the apostles what is about to happen at the last supper.

Gethsemane

This was a powerful scene as Mary remembers Jesus' birth and compares it with his death.  It was really moving.

Guarding the tomb

An angel comes to roll back the stone

He is risen!  Yes, that's a real dove.

The empty tomb

Why weepest thou?

The ascension of Christ

A joyful scene at the news of Christ's resurrection
What a glorious, spiritual and moving show!!

2.  We loved the Hughes Brothers Christmas show.

The Hughes family are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  There are four brothers, a couple of their wives, and lots of children and grandchildren that participate in the show.  Every single number was superb!

Sure hope COVID is a fart in the wind (a man in our ward bore his testimony and called COVID a fart in the wind!)  With so few wearing masks, it was a little disturbing.

Teach the children

This was the sweetest number.  That little girl had a beautiful voice and sang a song to the baby, then the other children joined her. Yes, that's a real baby.

3.  Our third favorite show was The Haygoods.  They also were a very talented family of siblings.

Flying in upside down, playing the guitar.  You don't see that every day.

There was just one sister in the group, and man, was she talented.  She could sing and play many instruments, including the harp.

4.We also enjoyed the Clay Cooper show.

This show was country with lots of fun music and dancing.  Clay Cooper had amazing rapport with the audience.  He had everyone laughing.

5.  The Duttons are another family that perform together.  They also are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  In fact, several of them go to the ward that we attended on Sunday.  They also are very talented!

All four of these grandsons have their mission calls and will leave soon. They sang together so well.  It was probably my favorite number.

We bought all of our tickets from our resort.  The concierge did a great job getting us good seats.  We were very pleased.
We love the shows in Branson!
