Wonderful Week with the Prince Family

We had the perfect plan:  Michelle and Brian's baby was due on August 2nd.  We planned to be there when he was born so that we could tend the other kids.  So we made sure we were packed and ready to go the whole week before that date. Then we waited.  I have decided that babies are the way Heavenly Father helps us remember who is in charge.  William wasn't quite ready to come before or on his due date- but a week later.  We had tickets to fly to Wisconsin on August 10th.  So, while we waited for him to make his entrance, we decided to go down to Vegas and spend the week with the Princes anyway. That way we were there for when Michelle had to go for doctor appointments (so we could tend the kids) and were able to fill their freezer with meals and other goodies and play with grandkids.  William finally made his appearance on August 9th.  We got to visit them in the hospital that day, then left early the next morning for Wisconsin.  We felt sad, but were comforted that Brian's mom, Cynthia flew in that evening to help out for a few days.  So it worked out, but it was not the perfect timing we were hoping for.  We had fun with the Prince family all that week.
Wait!  Why is the almost to deliver mama giving me a pedicure?  So Michelle!

Jaron loves to exercise and play with his grandpa. They have a great time together.

Lunch

Gabbi loves to create and cook.  She found this recipe for fruit pizza in the Friend magazine.  It's watermelon and cool whip, with fruit toppings.

I didn't get pictures, but we also made some other treats, including peanut butter candy from the Harry Potter cookbook.

A pile of Princes!

Michelle reading Harry Potter.  They read some aloud each night after reading from the Book of Mormon.  The Princes are Harry Potter fans (they all dressed as Harry Potter characters for Halloween.)

Kenny coming upstairs.  I love how I told him I was going to take his picture, so he folded his arms.

Early in the mornings, Gabbi liked to peek in our guest room to see if we were awake, then, if we were,  hopped on the bed with us.  I loved those early morning visits from our precious granddaughter.

Killer smile

Baby William arrives!

We had fun at home on the 9th until it was time to go and visit them at the hospital.

We meet sweet baby William Gary Prince.

And then there were six!

We are so glad William came before we had to leave the next morning.  We are delighted to welcome our 13th grandchild to the world.  We now have five granddaughters and eight grandsons.  Who would have thought that boys would outnumber girls in our all-girl family? We sure love this precious baby boy.

William Gary is Born

Embarassingly behind on this blog.  Michelle and Brian's new baby was born on August 9th, 2017.  That's how far behind I am.  That week started a whirlwind of traveling and busyness.  When I do have spare minutes, I work on family history.  I am addicted.  Another story for another post.  Therefore, I have neglected this blog.  I will try to catch up over the next several weeks.  It will take awhile!  But really, this is the most important family history work I do.  I will try to do better.

Sweet baby William Gary was born.  He is sweet and precious and we are so glad he is here.
