Canning Tomatoes

 We purchased some tomatoes to finish our tomato canning for the year.

Salsa

We added 11 pints of salsa to the 7 we did before, totaling 18 pints.

And we did 12 quarts of Pasta Sauce

Canning is a lot of work, but is so satisfying.

Salsa, Baby!

 We got a start on our salsa canning with some tomatoes from our garden.  We hope to do a lot more salsa and spaghetti sauce before the season ends.

Canning Day

 Tuesday, September 26th was canning day at our house.  We bought a box of Roma tomatoes at the Red Barn and made them into salsa and spaghetti sauce and water bath canned them.  We got 11 pints of salsa and 5 pints of spaghetti sauce, plus several tomatoes leftover for eating.

I love canning.  It is so satisfying.
