Prepared Meal at Costco: Braised Beef and Mashed Potatoes

 Okay.  This is the best one so far:  Braised Beef and Mashed Potatoes.  Over the past couple of years we have tried prepared meals at Costco from time to time.  I have reviewed them on here.This one is really, really good.  But it's also very expensive.  But for us, a couple, it served us four good meals.  We'll keep trying these, but I think this is our favorite so far. Prepared Meals at Costco: Stuffed Green Peppers

 It has been a while since we tried a prepared meal from Costco.  We really liked these stuffed green peppers.  And they were great leftover too.  

Prepared Meals at Costco: Meatballs and Rigaton

We tried another delicious prepared food from Costco: Meatballs and Rigatoni.  It was delicious.  The meatballs were big and good (though they needed salt) and sauce was delicious.  I divided it into three meals and we froze two of them.  

So yummy!

Prepared Foods from Costco: Chicken Alfredo

 The Chicken Alfredo from the prepared foods section was delicious.  The first thing I did was divide it in half, putting half in a container and freezing it.  It was a lot for two people.  The sauce was creamy and delicious and there was an abundance of chicken- their rotisserie chicken breast.  Ken especially loved this dish.

Prepared Foods at Costco- Nikuman

 In a recent trip to Costco, Ken saw they sold Nikuman.  Nikuman are a Japanese dish.  They are steamed buns and have some kind of meat in the center.  We ate nikuman occasionally in Japan.  Ken loved them on his first mission to Japan as a young man.  They would stop at a small grocery store and get the warm, delicious buns on cold days for lunch. They were in every little store, stored in a glass, moist warmer.  That is true today as well.  They are in every convenience store. These had barbecued chicken in the center.  They were good.  We steamed them in our rice cooker for a few minutes.  It was fun to revisit Japan while eating these delicious little sandwiches for lunch.

Prepared Foods at Costco- Rotisserie Chicken

 

Everyone has tried the most popular prepared food at Costco: Rotisserie Chicken.  It is inexpensive and delicious.  I like to serve it with mashed potatoes (which you can also buy at Costco if you don't want to make them), cranberry sauce, and a vegetable.  

Another favorite way to use the chicken is in a chicken salad.  This recipe is really delicious.

Prepared Meals at Costco- Yakisoba Stir-Fry

 We are occasionally trying a prepared meat from Costco.  This was our second try:  Yakisoba Stir Fry.  It was really delicious and easy to prepare.

First you saute' the vegetables.  We added some extra ones: more carrots, mushrooms, and garlic.  You could add whatever you like.

Then you add the chicken, sauce, and noodles.  The sauce is really delicious.

It made six nice servings.  

We really loved this and will buy it again.

Prepared Meals at Costco: Street Tacos

 I am always intrigued by the prepared meals I see at Costco.  Because I cook, I usually don't buy them, but I decided that I would occasionally try one and report the results on this blog.  

My first purchase was the street tacos.

It comes with small corn tortillas, seasoned chicken cubes, grated cheese, shredded cabbage, lime wedges, salsa, and Cilantro Lime Crema.

We added tomatoes and Ken made some guacamole.

These were REALLY good.  The chicken was seasoned well- not too spicy.  We heated the tortillas with cheese and chicken on them in the microwave, then added the other ingredients.  The salsa and the dressing were really delicious.  With just two of us, it fed us three times, so it was a great bargain.  We will definitely buy this again.
