A Grandma's Prayer

 

I saw this picture on the Internet.  It startled me as it looked somewhat like my tiny Grandma Peterson and reminded me of a time when she was staying with us.  Grandma had bad knees.  They gave her a lot of pain.  She was sleeping in the room next to mine.  One night, her door was open a crack and I peeked in.  There she was, kneeling by the bed on those painful knees, in prayer.  I watched her for quite some time.  It left an indelible impression on me.  One of her favorite hymns was Secret Prayer.  I can't sing that song without thinking of my grandma and remembering her that night.
