Being Temporally Prepared

I have been asked by our Relief Society presidency to prepare a short article for each month's Relief Society newsletter on spiritual preparedness.   I thought I might just as well publish those articles here as well. They publish on the first day of the month.  This is February's article.

Our leaders have instructed us for years to prepare ourselves temporally.  Following are some quotes from President Benson:

“Have sufficient food, clothing, and fuel on hand to last at least one year.”

President Ezra Taft Benson, 1987: “I ask you earnestly, have you provided for your family a years’ supply of food, clothing and, where possible, fuel? The revelation to produce and store food may be as essential to our temporal welfare today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of Noah.”

Along with being spiritually prepared, let’s fill our pantries and prepare ourselves temporally.
