Ken's New Ride

Ken owns both a road and a mountain bike.  For safety reasons, he mostly rides his mountain bike.  About nine months ago, his mountain bike broke.  It was old.  He did a lot of shopping and found that the bike supply chain was severely delayed.  After looking in every bike shop in the area, he ordered a new mountain bike from a shop in Hurricane.  He paid a deposit and waited . . . and waited . . . and waited . . .   No bike.  In the meantime, he was able to have his old mountain bike welded and repaired and it has worked fine for him.

Recently, he started looking for a mountain bike, assuming the one he ordered will never come.  He has scoured the ads looking for a used one.  We looked at one in Cedar City when we went to the temple there.

Then, he went back to a St. George bike store- Bicycles Unlimited- and found that they again had an abundance of bikes to sell.  He walked out of there, having purchased a new bike:

On the way home, he called the Hurricane bike shop and canceled the order and they said they would credit his credit card with the $400 deposit he paid.
He came home, got ready and took a 16-mile ride on it, only to find that it didn't meet his needs.  He needed two higher gears and full suspension.  He called Bicycles Unlimited when he got home and they were really nice about it and said he could bring it back.  He was sad because we really liked the color of this one.

The next day, he went back and purchased this bike.  He found it to be just what he wanted.  He rode it for 21 miles and said it is near perfect (though not as pretty!)  So, here is Ken's new ride! Happy Valentine's Day, birthday, Father's Day, and Christmas!!
