In Search of the Gray-Crowned Rosy Finch

Ken is a member of a Birding in Utah Facebook group.  They report to one another sightings of birds, usually accompanied by pictures.  Ken noticed that several were seeing a Grey-crowned Rosy Finch at the Alta ski resort in northern Utah.  Since he had never seen one, and really wanted to, we decided to make a trip to northern Utah.  Of course, we combined it with a visit to Michelle and Brian's.  We left on Wednesday, Feb.9th.  Ken headed to Alta on Thursday morning.  His trip was successful.  He saw the sought-after bird.

Though he had seen them many times before, he was also thrilled to watch Clark's nutcrackers feed.  He got some good pictures.

Though he had to walk through snow to do it, his trip was successful.
