A Fun Week in Vermont

We had a fun week in Vermont.

We went in little gift shops and bought fun things.

I sent pictures of these beautiful, soft cashmere scarves and had each of our daughters choose one.  I had wanted to get them one when we were in Scotland, but they were so expensive there.  These were much less money and just as beautiful.  I was excited to find them.

Which would you choose?

One day, we headed down to the Stowe area to visit a lot of fun places?
The Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory is in Vermont.  It seems that everyone knows about it!  There were a lot of people there.

Waiting in line for an ice cream treat.

It was such a beautiful autumn day.

The graveyard is funny.  It is where they bury discontinued flavors.

After Ben and Jerry's we stopped at a cute gift shop, then a chocolate factory.

We visited the Von Trapp Family Lodge

The grounds are beautiful

You can tell my hair had been rained on that day.

I love their gift shop.  This is the beautiful atrium.

We had dinner in their restaurant.  We both had Weiner Schnitzel.

Stowe, Vermont is such a cute town.

These towers had murals painted on them.  They were in Jackson, Vermont.

We watched the funeral for our friend, Rosemary on Youtube.

We watched the BYU game.

They had both an indoor and an outdoor pool.  We swam in both.  This outdoor pool was near our condo.  We had it to ourselves.

We really enjoyed the fireplace in our condo and used it most every day.

We enjoyed watching all three sessions of general conference on Saturday in our condo.

Our friends, Patsy and Greg Last sang in the missionary choir on Saturday afternoon.  They are serving a mission in Salt Lake City.  Greg is a retired physician.  He reviews missionary applications for medical purposes.  Patsy works in the family history center. Patsy is the blonde in the light blue.

Greg is the silver-haired man on the second row.

We had to move out of our Vermont condo on Sunday and travel to New Hampshire to check in there.  Luckily, there was one of our churches on the highway on the way.  We found it earlier in the week and there was a note on the door saying they would be broadcasting general conference there.  So we stopped and enjoyed conference with a few saints there.  They were all staying to have lunch together and then watch the afternoon session.  They invited us, but we had to move on.  We got to our New Hampshire condo and checked in just in time to watch the afternoon session.  It worked out perfectly.

Watching conference in the Vermont chapel.
