July 14 Eidjford, Norway

Our first port stop was Eidfjord, Norway.  It was beautiful.

They had told us that in the approach to Eidfjord we would have to go under the Hardanger Bridge.  As we approached, it looked like we would never fit under, but we sailed right through.

It was fun to watch from our balcony.

When I saw this scene, I was overwhelmed with the beauty.  Little did I know at that point how many beautiful villages we would be seeing on this trip.  Norway is gorgeous! We commented often how difficult it must have been for our ancestors to leave their beautiful native land.  Their faith was strong!  I am most grateful!

We all took a shuttle bus to view the Valurfossen Waterfall, several miles out of town.

A smaller falls at the other end of the valley.

It was so beautiful and so powerful.  It also was really loud.

After we got back to the ship, several from the group, including Ken  hiked to a lake.  Ken and Tom hiked from there up the mountain and around the town and back down.  They got some beautiful pictures.

Love this shot.  Love this man!

This was a Viking Burial Ground.

Most of the stone fence posts have been replaced with wooden ones, but one ancient stone one remains.

Nice shot!

There was an old church and cemetery up there.

We made Patty push the button for our selfie so we all could be in the picture.  She's going to hate this picture.  I think it is so cute.

Delicious fish for dinner that night.

Sail away.
