Volcano Boy

One of the counselors in the area presidency, Alan T.  Phillips spoke at the London Hyde Park stake conference.  He was a wonderful speaker- so full of the spirit.

He told a story I wanted to record here.  His calling required him to be gone all day on Sunday.  As he prepared to leave, his little son, who he called Volcano Boy, was erupting.  He was put in his room to have his eruption.  As Brother Phillips prepared to leave the house that Sunday morning, his wife gave him "the look," that says "You're going to leave me with this?"  So Brother Phillips said, "Would you like me to take him with me?"  Within five minutes, his son was dressed, had an activity and treat bag packed, and they were on their way.  The little guy was thrilled to be going with Dad, not realizing Dad was his punishment.  As they got on the train, his little son looked up at him and smiled.  Brother Phillips said that at that moment he was filled with the most pure love he had ever felt.  He realized in that short moment how very much he loved that little son and that nothing, nothing he did or said could ever remove that love from him.

He then likened that to the love our Savior has for us- all His little volcano boys.  Nothing we do, nothing we say, can separate us from the LOVE of our Savior.
