Cultural Hall

 

Have you ever wondered why, in our churches, we call the gym a cultural hall?  That was explained to us by a senior missionary serving in the London Hyde Park visitors center (which is one and the same as the church.)  When the church acquired the building for the chapel, it was in downtown London, surrounded by museums and other cultural buildings.  The stipulation was that they could use it for a church, but it also had to have something cultural in it, to fit in with its surroundings.  So they named the gym a cultural hall!  Since then, in all of our churches, the gym is called the cultural hall.  It all started in London!
