Yesterday, while teaching voice lessons, I heard a new one that so tops "the dog ate my homework", "there was a hole in my mitt," or "the sun was in my eyes," that I had to share. I asked a student if she had learned the melody of a new song as I had assigned the week before. She said "No, I couldn't" Why? "Because my dad and brothers dropped my piano and it broke in a million pieces." Oh. Okay. I guess that's a good reason.

How AWFUL! A million pieces doesn't sound like it can be fixed either. I hope she's still able to learn her part.
That reason works for me! What a crazy thing! How did it happen?
Oh, so, so sad!!!! That was an expensive slip. "I feel sorry for her to the amount of $5." (Joseph Smith). Tell her I'll donate to her fund if she is collecting.
