Update on Peru Humanitarian Project

We were so thrilled to get recent pictures of the Peru Humanitarian project Ken participated in.  The locals have worked hard to complete the part that the group worked on.  Here you can see the third pond is entirely bricked, cemented and functional.  The large hole the group dug also is bricked and cemented.  It is a settling pond for the water that will go in the fish runs.  I was interested in the bamboo sticks across pond number one.  Ken says they are to keep birds and other predators from getting to the fish.  It is hard to describe how satisfying it is to see these pictures.  The group definitely gave them the boost, but the local people continued the work after they left.

You can see the fish in this picture.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."  That old proverb seems to apply here.

Beautiful! Such an unselfish way for Ken to spend his time! I'll bet they worked so hard, but were rewarded greatly!
