Yellow Star by Jennifer Roy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is a beautifully written book about a horrible time in the world’s history. It is a true story. It is the story of a little Jewish girl in Poland during WWII. She and her family spent over six years in the Lodz ghetto for Jews. Of the thousands there, she was one of only twelve children who survived. Years later, after they were living in America, her niece interviewed her extensively and then wrote this book about her/ their experiences. It is a poignant and powerful account from a child’s perspective.
