Why are we so blessed? Our little mission of just 100 missionaries had a recent mission-wide conference. We knew something was up when it was announced that the entire mission would come for the conference. The only time the entire mission can come is when an apostle is coming. We were so excited to hear Elder Gary E. Stevenson was coming, along with two other general authorities: Elder Gerrit Gong of the Presidency of the Seventy, and Elder Yamishita of the Seventy. Wow! Elder Stevenson served in the Fukuoka mission at the same time as Ken and at the same time as our mission president, President Smith. He and his wife have since served in Japan as a mission president and as an area authority. In fact, he was the area authority when the devastating earthquake/ tsunami hit 2011. He has excellent Japanese. What a privilege to meet them( they shook every missionary's hand) and hear their powerful messages.

It was such a privilege to hear from an apostle. He referred to Ken, saying it was like the sons of Mosiah with the three of them reuniting after all these years. It was also wonderful to meet and hear from his wife. He left a beautiful apostolic blessing on us and on this mission.

They also were accompanied by their wives and all gave powerful messages. It was definitely a highlight of our service here in Japan to attend this special conference.

How wonderful, Kay! Maybe it is not a coincidence that your branch president and Elder Stevenson served with Ken and now, they meet up, years later. What a thrill! I'll bet your conference really gave a boost to your branch!
What a wonderful experience. I am SO glad you were able to go!
