A series on PBS (thanks to Joan and Tom getting us a PBS passport) that we watched was Poldark. Joan recommended it as she loves it. Ken liked it better than I did. Every episode was so intense that it was hard for me to relax and enjoy it. Because of that, you may not want children to watch it. But it's a good story and the scenery of England is beautiful. And now we're through, I miss the characters. and look forward to the next season.
