"Happiness and Moral Duty are Inseparably Connected." George Washington

Saturday, July 3rd
We packed up and bid farewell to Shonna and Blake as they were headed back to Ohio. The rest of us left for DC. Michelle and Brian went home, while the Mackrorys and us went to spend the afternoon at Mount Vernon- home of George Washington.
It was crowded, a very busy holiday weekend day. But we enjoyed looking through the museums, grounds, mansion, and gift shop. It was a very hot day.
We then drove on to Michelle and Brian's where they had prepared a delicious dinner for us and newlyweds Dustin(Ken's brother, Don's son) and Nicki Hinton. We hadn't met cute Nicki yet as we were in Ohio at the time of their reception. It was fun to get acquainted and enjoy a Princely feast of sweet and sour chicken over rice, watermelon, salad, chips and salsa and cake and ice cream for dessert.
After dinner, the Mackrorys had to go out shopping for a new DVD player, as theirs had stopped working. They didn't want to face the long ride home without a DVD player for their kids. Poor little Brielle developed a very high temperature that night, but she is fine now.
