Time Out For Women

August 27-29th, Kristen, Shonna, Michelle, and I were going to meet in Layton, Utah for Time Out for Women.  We got a motel room and bought the tickets.  But then because of COVID, the event was cancelled.  Our money was refunded, but Kristen had her flight and we had the motel room, so we decided to meet anyway and create our own Time Out For Women. It was a great idea!  Ken drove me and got his own motel room close by.  He participated in a lot of it, too, as we originally planned.

We all met at a Thai restaurant on Friday evening.  It was so good to be together- our original core family.
How we love and honor these precious women.  They are all wonderful daughters, wives, mothers, and human beings.

The food was beautiful and delicious!

Time Out For Women was going to have the first session at 7:00pm on Friday evening.  So, we decided we would start our own time out for women after dinner.  Each of us chose a talk to watch during the weekend and then talk about it.  We started with this talk about perfection from a past women's conference.  I'm sorry I don't remember the speaker's name.  As you can see, we just watched in the motel room.

After listening, we had a great discussion about it.
We then went down into the breakfast room and did a craft that Michelle had prepared for us.

We all finished them up at home after, since the vinyls were sold out and Michelle had to pick them up and get them to us later.

After breakfast on Saturday, we exercised and visited in the motel's pool.  It was so fun.

We then listened to the most often requested talk on youtube, Brad Wilcox's (Blake's mission president) talk on grace.  Again, we had a great discussion.

We then made our way to Kneaders for lunch.

After lunch, we got pedicures together.  So fun!

In the afternoon, we listened to Jeffrey R. Holland's talk to the BYU faculty.  It was such a beautiful talk - so full of love.  How I love this man.  Again, we had a great discussion together.
While we were doing all of that, Ken spent the day at a place he has always wanted to visit - Antelope Island.  He loved spending his day in the great outdoors.

How I love this man!

Ken joined us in the evening.  We all went out to dinner together.

Kristen straightened Shonna's recently cut hair.  It looked so pretty!
We all got in our car, and as in old times, the three girls sat in the back seat.  Michelle called NOT to have the hump.  Being the youngest, she always got it when she was a kid.  After that, Kristen and Shonna made it a point to call the "Hump"  when we got in the car.  We had a good laugh at the memories.

Wisconsin Cheese soup at Zupas with a crab and cheese sandwich!

After dinner, we went back to the motel's breakfast room and had the best discussion.  Kristen had prepared questions that we all answered.  It was so fun to hear everyone's responses.  Then Ken took some pictures of the four of us.

After our fun party, we went out for froyo.

Sunday morning, we attended a local ward, then had lunch in the motel room- mostly leftovers from previous meals.  Then we packed up and said goodbye.  Michelle took Kristen to the airport, then hurried home to make a cake and dinner and host the Prince family for dinner and Brian's birthday party.  She's amazing!  All of them are.  Ken and I are in constant awe of these three amazing women.  They teach us so much.

It was such a perfect, wonderful weekend.  I hope we can make it an annual event!  Please!  Pretty please!!!
