This is why I read books. I loved this book. Katie’s voice is so authentic and her love for her siblings so endearing. It is a story of family, love, death, grieving, prejudice, poverty, community, and love. Oh, I said that. I found myself wanting to pray for this dear family- they felt so real to me. This may well end up being my favorite book I read this year. 5+ stars from me.
