I really wanted to like this book. I really thought I would like it, as I have loved the other two books that I’ve read by this author (The Rent Collector and The Orphan Keeper) It is an award-winning book. But I didn’t like it much. I didn’t really like any of the characters, The interactions between the separated husband and wife were hard to read as they were so childish and mean to each other. I thought the premise that these intricate riddles and clues were written by a man with Alzheimer’s was implausible. I still plan to read other books by this author. I just didn’t love this one.
