Eikaiwa Christmas Parties

To look at this blog, you'd think all we do is party!  We were in charge of putting on Christmas parties for our two eikaiwas.  Those parties are a lot of work, but they're fun!
Tsuruoka Christmas party

This tiger has quite a history.  Elder Weatherred bought it when he was here about this time last year.  He left it in the apartment when he transferred.  Each time we've inspected the apartment, we've asked the elders to get rid of it(elders are notorious for collecting stuff that's not relevant to their mission experience) but it was still hanging around.  They decided to wrap it up for the gift exchange.  Remi got it and I think she was quite delighted- at least until she turned it over and found Elder Weatherred's name on it.  Japanese people are very concerned about never taking something that doesn't belong to them (it is a very honest society.)  The elders assured her that he didn't want it.  Then they all signed their names on it to make her feel better.

Wait!  This says Elder Weatherred.

At the end, we gathered in the kitchen for refreshments.  This dear man asked if he could sing "Ave Maria" for us.  He did so acapella.  He had been practicing for weeks.

The next night was the Sakata party.  We got a few more action shots that night.  We sang carols.
Ho! Ho! Ho!  Who wouldn't go?

The refreshments and some of the cards for the "Guess Who I Am" game.  We also played Pictionary.

The Entire Group
When that party ended, we were happy to realize we have only two more parties to put on before we go- Valentine's and Easter.  We're not really party people, I guess.

Dear Sister Hinton, I love reading your posts. I also love to see my Elder Luke Dance and all his favorite people- the people of Tsurouka. Thank you so much! Tammy Dance Radabaugh
