Autumn in Japan- Ken's Pictures

Ken took a lot of photographs this autumn season.  The colors were so beautiful and vibrant and he just couldn't leave his camera in his pocket- try as he might.  I've loved seeing him catch the bug!  He took over 600 photos of our area in the fall.  It has been very hard to choose which ones to post.  Please enjoy!  Beware: Viewing these photos will make you want to come to Japan!
I'll start with one of my favorites.  I just love the color of these berries.

Beautiful sunset.

Shimo Ike Pond is a favorite photographer's spot in autumn.  You can see why.

A few of his pictures have people in them!

Can you count the birds?

Don't you love this one?

Swans leaving the pond in the early morning.

Whenever you see one of these arches (and they are everywhere) you know the path leads to a shrine.

Absolutely love this one!

This is our friend, Brother Kobayashi.  His hobby is nature photography.  He and Elder Hinton have enjoyed several early morning outings together.

Enter this one in a contest!

Photographers come from all over Japan to photograph the swans on Shimo Ike and leaving it.  Because of the beautiful backdrop, this is a favorite photography spot.  Ken talked to people from all over the country.

And this one shows what we're seeing all over town.  People are preparing their trees and shrubs for the upcoming snows.  It is quite a process- especially for big, high trees.  Ready or not . . . here comes winter!
Thank you, Elder Hinton for sharing autumn in Tohoku through your eyes!
