Hinton Family Reunion 2020- Wednesday

Wednesday, July 1st- Gabbi's birthday
Shonna made a delicious hot cereal for breakfast on Wednesday called Daliya Porridge.  It will post soon on hungryhintons.blogspot.com.

Kristen taught the devotional on Wednesday and unburied the swords so each could add to them.
We then headed to Newton Reservoir near their home for a fun day on the reservoir.  Shonna and Blake have four kayaks and a paddle board.  Brian and Michelle have a raft and large tube.  It was such a fun, perfect day.  Everyone had a good time. (Jared had to work remotely, so he didn't come.  Brielle volunteered to stay home and tend Elisabeth.)

Our great observation seats

Kristen didn't even have on a swim suit, but really wanted to try the paddle board.  She'd never done one before.  Brave girl!  It could have ended in disaster, but it didn't.  She paddled all over the lake and never fell.

Hannah Rose had her arm in cast.  Her mom covered it with a plastic bag.  She took lots of rides and had a great time.

Actually no one that tried the paddle board fell.  They all really enjoyed it.

Cousins

They went to the other side of the lake and raced back.

Nathan snorkeled and found lures.  He found some fishing line and started fishing.

And with those found supplies, he caught 2 fish!!!

The day at the reservoir was so much fun.  Several of the family listed it as one of their favorite reunion activities:  Caleb, Lily, Gabe, Audrey, Nathan, Gabbi, Jaron, Kenny, and Brian.
Later in the afternoon, we celebrated Gabbi's birthday with a tropical-themed birthday party.

They recently painted Gabbi's bedroom, so we got her a new bed set for her redecorated room.

That was yummy cake!

Wednesday was the Camerons turn for the talent show.

Caleb played the piano

And a duet with Shonna.

Lily played the drum while her mom played the piano.

And played a piano solo

Hannah played her song with her non-broken hand.  Lily played the other hand, and mom, the accompaniment.

Gabe wanted to play, too.  He played a beautiful solo . . .

with the help of cousin, Brielle.  This brought back a very early memory to me.  I remember sitting up at the piano with my mom and tinkling on the upper keys while she played.  I thought it was really me making those beautiful sounds.  Gabe thought it was him. . . and Brielle let him think that.

Bed time stories

Many sat out on the porch that evening to watch the sunset.  It was gorgeous.

Each person was asked at the end of the reunion what their favorite part of the reunion was.  One of the things Michelle said was seeing the beauties of Cache Valley.  I have to agree.  Cache Valley in the summer is beautiful!

I agree! Cache Valley is loaded with beauty! The Hinton cousins really know how to have fun together and their moms and dads have such great ideas on how to make wonderful reunions. It was fun peeking in to see all of the fun! And wow, Shonna's hair is so long, like her mom's used to be.
