We chose this Newberry Honor Book for our family book club this month. I really enjoyed it. The eleven-year-old main character, Mo (short for Moses because they found her as a baby floating in the river) is hilarious, smart, and positive. She and her friend, Dale form a detective agency and together end up solving a murder mystery. I know; it’s been done before! But this book is funny and exciting and the characters, endearing. It is a fun read, full of very usable one-liners.
