Which Temple?

Our beloved St. George temple closed at the first of November.  We have had to adjust to having no temple.  We are experimenting with what works best for us.

We went once to the Cedar City temple, about 45 minutes away.  It was our first time there, other than attending the open house.  We arrived in time for the 9:00am session.  It was completely full, but we did get in.  We then did two sealing sessions.  We waited about an hour for each of those.  So for sealings it was not very productive. Those darned St. George people are flooding the Cedar temple!  But we enjoyed our time there and will return.

We have now gone to Las Vegas temple three times.  It is a dream-come-true place to do sealings. Las Vegas also is busy, but their capacity is so much greater than Cedar City.  In two visits, we were able to do twelve sealing sessions, completing our stack (more have since accumulated with the family history work I do.)  The workers are welcoming and kept emphasizing to us that they love St. George people to come and please spread the word.  They also have a nice cafeteria in the basement.  We like that we can combine our temple visit with a visit to Michelle and Brian who live about 1/2 hour from the temple.

Las Vegas Temple

So, bottom line is that we will continue to visit both beautiful temples.  Our goal is to do as much temple work as we were doing in the St. George temple.  It will be a challenge, but we hope we can keep up with that goal.  We love doing the saving ordinances for our kindred dead.  We also love spending this sacred time together in the holy temple.
