Help!

Ken goes for a walk nearly every morning.  He has an established route he walks, but on a day in December, he felt impressed to go a different route.
As he came to a certain point, he could hear a faint cry for help.  He looked down the hill, and there, lying face down, was a person almost perfectly camouflaged in a beige hoodie, lying on his tummy.  It was hard to see him.  He made his way down to him.  He recognized him as an elderly man in the 6th ward that he knows.  (Brother Erwin is 90 years old)  He had fallen trying to get a willow to make a walking stick for someone who helped his “elderly” neighbor who is 93.  That cracked me up.  Anyway, he fell and badly injured his shoulder and couldn’t get up.  He said he just occasionally called for help as he lay there.   He “happened” to call just as Ken was above him and could hear him.  Most walkers wear ear buds, so who knows how long it would have been until someone discovered him. He certainly wasn't very visible. And it was very cold.   Ken helped him up and walked him to his home.  He wanted to call 9 11, but Brother Erwin wouldn’t allow him to.  When he got him home, he shooed Ken away, not wanting him to tell his wife.  Ken thinks he was hoping the pain would just go away and not require a doctor visit.  When Ken got home, he called his wife.  Her husband had just barely told her what happened.  Soon thereafter we heard the ambulance siren.  He didn’t break the shoulder, but badly bruised and strained it.  His arm is in a sling.  I guess he made his way back down the hill  a few days later because he had his wife bring a walking stick that he had fashioned as a thank you gift.  He credits Ken with saving his life.  It has caused us to reflect on how the Lord can use us to bless others if we follow simple promptings.

That is such a cool story! Ken's tuners must be turned up to high! He must feel so good to have been able to hear and respond to the cry for help.
