It might look worse, but actually Caleb's doing better. They took him off the ventillator yesterday. He's now on a baby CPAP machine, so he's mostly breathing on his own! It looks bigger in the picture, so it makes it seem worse, but it's better. He's also under the bilirubin lights, so that's why he has the eye shields on. His bilirubin levels are dropping, so that's getting better, too. His weight dropped (as always happens after birth) but he's starting to gain again now. Yipee! They have "kangaroo" time each day with him. Either Shonna or Blake can hold him, skin to skin, and love him. That's the happy time of day, or as Blake says it, their "Caleb fix" time. They sing to him and talk to him and love him. Again, we thank you for your faith and prayers. Thank you, thank you!!!!

Today's Update

I'm so glad to hear he's doing better because like you say, that picture looks kind of scary :) I'm also glad they let Shonna and Blake hold him. That is the best thing for him!

I just think he is lookin' cool in his 'shades' with the sun lamps a shinin' soakin' it all up in his little 'swim trunks' and 'snorkle gear' He is darling...we keep a prayer in our hearts, good thoughts in our minds and positive words on our lips all directed toward little Caleb.
