Aunt Sally Passes Away

Sally Almquist married Ken's uncle Orvan.  They had both lost their spouses and met each other at the St. George temple and married. We were close with Orvan and Ken was executor of Orvan's will.  We did a lot to take care of Orvan and then Sally in his last years.  She spent her last years after Orvan died in an assisted living center near her daughter in Salt Lake.

Sally's funeral was on Monday, May 3.  It was a very nice tribute to her and her talents.  It was an open-mic affair, so anyone could speak that wanted to.  Sally had asked us both to speak at her funeral many times over the last few years, but, as many were participating, we chose not to get up.  I hope she won't haunt us.

Since moving to Salt Lake, we frequently received letters from Sally- at least one a month, but often many more.  The evening of her funeral, her daughter, Melinda brought over this last letter from Sally.  She had written it, addressed, and even stamped it, but didn't get it mailed before passing away a few days later.
Rest in peace, Aunt Sally.
