Lily Kay's Baptism

On Saturday, August 3rd, our precious Lily Kay Cameron was baptized.  We drove to Logan from Park City that morning to be there for the 10:30am meeting.  Shonna had asked me to play the piano for the stake baptism.  That truly was an honor.  Ken, with her other grandpa, was witness to the baptism.  Her other grandma led the music.  Sweet Lily positively glowed.
Shonna bought her dress, but Lily really wanted a pink bow, so Shonna figured out how to make it.  This is the picture Shonna texted a week or so before the baptism after she got it and the headband all done.  Didn't she do a beautiful job?

There were three children baptized that day from their stake.  Each mother did a short spotlight on their child.  Shonna told how Lily helps at home.  She said she was trying to get Gabe to do something and he just wouldn't.  Lily sat down by him and quietly talked to him, and pretty soon Gabe got up and did what he was supposed to.  She also told how Shonna explained to her what would happen on her baptism day.  When she told her that she would be baptized, then confirmed, Lily expressed concern that all of the men would get their hands wet from her wet hair.

How we love our precious Lily Kay

Shonna loves flowers, and lilies are her favorite.  These beautiful lilies grow in their yard.

After the baptism, Shonna and Blake had a nice luncheon at their home.  Michelle and Brian and their family came from Las Vegas, Grandpa and Grandma Cameron and Blake's brother, Brian and his family came from Salt Lake.  It was so nice to be all together.

All in attendance at the baptism wrote notes to Lily while she changed after her baptism. She loved going through them after we got home.

I love this picture!

Since Gabe's 3rd birthday was going to be the next week, we brought his gifts and he opened them.  It was fun to see his excitement at having his own legos (duplos)  So often we miss the grandkids opening our gifts because we live far away.  It was really fun to be there. Blake helped them build the toys, then he and Hannah played for a long time with them.

Princes gave Lily a pillow case she could color and she wasted no time getting started on that.  Lily loves arts and crafts.
It was a sweet privilege to be part of Lily Kay's baptism.
