President and Sister Smith Return From Japan

On July 9th, we attended church in Provo, Utah to hear President and Sister Smith report their three-year mission.  They are amazing and dedicated people.  It was a privilege to serve under them in Sendai, Japan.  They were strict, yet very loving and caring.

We attended the three-hour block of meetings in their Provo ward.  It was fun to meet Elder Dance's mom and stepdad who came from Logan to hear the report. Elder Dance's mom is a fun lady and we see where he gets his personality.
After the meetings, the Smiths had a luncheon in their huge, beautiful home up near the Provo temple.
Brother Emery Smith, President Jeffrey Smith's brother, and his wife went to Sendai to serve a 1 1/2 year mission as the office couple while his brother was there.  His hip broke while he was there, but he gutted it out until his 18 months were up.  He returned in April and had hip replacement surgery in June.  He has his leg up, recovering, at the party.  They also were a wonderful couple.

I love this picture of President Smith and Ken visiting.
Sister Smith.  I love this dear lady.  Their house was packed with returned missionaries, friends, and other guests.

It was fun to visit with elders and sisters that we loved and served with as well as meet many new, wonderful people.
Again, we are grateful for President and Sister Smith and their examples of dedicated service.
