A Quick Trip to Logan

Our first weekend home- the first weekend of June- we headed to Logan to spend time with the Camerons.  There were many reasons:  Caleb's piano recital, Lily and Hannah's dance recital, dentist appointments (Blake is our dentist), and Shonna was participating in the Red Riding Hood bike race.
Shonna and her best friend Robyn exchange piano teaching.  Shonna teaches Sam and Robyn teaches Caleb.  So they put on a little end-of-year recital.

The other grandma and grandpa came, too.  We really enjoyed visiting with them.  Such wonderful people!

This is a sad story.  Shonna, Robyn, and their other friend Jennie were scheduled to ride as a team in the bike race together.  A couple of weeks before the event, Jennie had a brain aneurism and died suddenly.  She left five children, including a 10 -month -old -baby.  Shonna and friends (others from the ward were riding too and had trained together) decided to still participate in the race and to ride for Jennie.  They got together and made matching capes to wear to honor their friend.

Waiting for the moms- Robyn and Shonna to come across the finish line

They made it!

Their ride was beautiful through Cache Valley
That evening was the dance recital.  It was impossible to get pictures in that dark auditorium.  I took pictures of their class pictures.
Hannah and Robyn's daughter, Millie were cute little bumble bees.

The recital went 2 1/2 hours.  These were tired little dancers, but we got a couple of pictures.

Hannah literally fell asleep in her mother's arms as we walked out to the car.  It was late and she was so tired.

On Sunday afternoon, after church, we went up to Logan cemetery to visit my parents' graves.  We hadn't thought ahead, so didn't have flowers to decorate the graves with, but we paid our respects.  We told some great grandpa and grandma Gabe stories to the grandkids.  Memorial Day a week late!

Maybe our most "changed" grandchild while we were on our mission was Caleb.  He has grown up so much.  He is a voracious reader.

When we came upstairs on Monday morning, Hannah asked Grandpa to play doll house with her.  They had a grand time.

After dental appointments with Blake, we hurried down the state.  We were supposed to get Internet the next day, so had to hurry home.  It was a quick, but very fun trip.  Thank you, Camerons!
