Sapporo Temple Dedication

We were privileged to attend the Sapporo temple dedication on August 20th.  We traveled to Sendai and attended it via satellite.  Most of the people were in the large chapel/cultural hall area, but they had a room for those of us who spoke English, so we could hear it all in English.  There were three sessions.  We attended the one that started at noon.  There were 12 missionaries in the room, as well as two others- one from Australia and one from America who are living in Japan.  It was a sweet experience- especially for the Japanese saints who have never had that opportunity before.  Many attended at great sacrifice. To get to Sendai from our little branch takes about 2 1/2 or 3 hours and costs about $70 in tolls.  Yet, many made the trip.  One sister rode the bus at a cost of over $100.  They were thrilled to be there, and we were thrilled to see them there.  It was a sweet, joyous occasion.

What a treat to be in Japan when a temple is dedicated. I'm sure it will be a treasured memory. So great to see the sacrifice of the Japanese saints to be there.
