Japanese people are incredibly generous gift-givers. We are the recipients of many nice gifts from many nice people. In fact, I don't think a week has gone by that we haven't received a gift of some kind. But a few weeks ago, there was a day when we received many gifts, all on the same day. We still wonder if it was a holiday or a national gift-giving day?
A young woman we work with at the volunteer center is an artist. When she found out Ken's love for birds, she gave him this drawing she did of an Eurasian Tree Sparrow. |
This is a folded top that actually spins |
On the same day, someone left this beautiful wind chime on our front door. We still don't know who it was. |
Another lady we work with at the volunteer center brought us this beautiful starched, hand-crocheted bowl with gold fish treats. They are like jello with little candy gold fish set in them. |
Someone brought us these blackberries from their garden- all wrapped and presented so beautifully. |
And two of our eikaiwa students- a mother and daughter- brought us a bag of delicious Japanese filled cookies. |

Awwwww! What kind, thoughtful people! I am sure if there was a post with all of the gifts that you have given to others there in Japan that it would be even longer than this one.
I'm sure you are wondering how you are going to get all your gifts home? I love that the Japanese people are so giving.
