My rating: 2 of 5 stars
Since finishing this book, I have asked myself several times, “Am I glad I read it?” For me to give it a 3-star rating, I need to be glad I read it. I am not fond of the fantasy genre (Harry Potter excepted.) I avoid it. But this book came with so many accolades, I decided to give it a try. It was a struggle for me. I do see good in it. I see the priority of the protection of all children as being it’s central theme. And that is good. But, honestly, I’m not glad I read it. So, I guess I give it an unpopular 2 ½ stars and move on to books more in alignment with my preferences.
