Historical Fiction Physical book
I know I am supposed to like this one. But it was a struggle for me. There were too many characters (I kept an index card in the book and recorded the names and who they were) and too many plot lines.
I give this a 3-star rating because I am glad I read it. It is worth the read when you get to the end and realize that people from all of these diverse cultures came together to save a little black boy and give him a future. The epilogue is beautiful. And the example of unselfish love is, well, profound. Yes, 3-stars are perfect for how I feel about the book overall. This is a book that may need to be read more than once to get everything.
