Modern fiction Audiobook
It’s time to review this book, and I’m not sure what to say. I love clean modern fiction, character-driven stories. Check, check, check. And yet I didn’t love this book. I liked it. I’m glad I read it. But I never really loved the flawed characters. It is a good story, but, overall, a sad one. It is a story of a close family. But the mother is a selfish nutcase. It is not realistic that someone so self-focused could raise four daughters who love and support each other. There are frequent references and comparisons with Little Women in this story. It is a modern adaptation of that classic novel, I guess, but I think I will stick with the original.
