Several months ago the organizers of the annual Red Cliffs Bird Festival asked Ken to lead groups on birding adventures during this big event. It was held on April 27-29. People come from all over to attend this event each year. Ken, along with his brother, Don led groups on Thursday and Friday morning, then did the all-day, 12-hour excursion on Saturday, 6am-6pm. It is called "The Big Day." The idea on that day is to count how many species they could identify in those 12 hours. They got 96 different species. They took their groups up to outer parts of Zion National Park and to Grafton, a nearby ghost town and around that area. They were three long and exhausting days, but I think they had a great time.
