What Did the Prophet Ask Us To Do? with Addendum

I have already posted this, as I do each six months.  But shortly after, President Nelson spoke to the youth in a worldwide broadcast.  I felt I had to add what he asked them to do to this list.  So here is the updated version:
What Did the Prophet Ask Us to Do?

Sunday morning, Revelation

Follow the example of the Prophet Joseph:  Find a quiet place where you can regularly go.  Humble yourself before God.

Pour out your heart to your Heavenly Father.

Turn to Him for answers and for comfort.

Pray in the name of Jesus Christ about your concerns, your fears, your weaknesses- yes, the very longings of your heart.

And then listen!

Write the thoughts that come to your mind.

Record your feelings and follow through with actions that you are prompted to take.

I urge you to stretch beyond your current spiritual ability to receive personal revelation.

Nothing opens the heavens quite like the combination of

Increased purity

Exact obedience

Earnest seeking

Daily feasting on the words of Christ in the Book of Mormon

Regular time committed to temple and family history work

Continue to be obedient

Express gratitude for every blessing the Lord gives you

Patiently honor the Lord’s timetable

Increase your spiritual capacity to receive revelation

Let this Easter Sunday be a defining moment in your life

Choose to do the spiritual work required to enjoy the gift of the Holy Ghost and hear the voice of the Spirit more frequently and more clearly.

Come unto Christ and lay hold upon every good gift, beginning with the gift of the Holy Ghost, which gift will change your life.

Saturday afternoon, Let Us All Press On

I exhort you to study the messages of this conference frequently- even repeatedly- during the next six months.

Conscientiously look for ways to incorporate these messages in your family home evenings, your gospel teaching, your conversations with family and friends, and even your discussions with those not of our faith.

We invite all of God’s children on both sides of the veil to come unto the Savior, receive the blessings of the holy temple, have enduring joy, and qualify for eternal life.

Identify those things you can set aside so you can spend more time in the temple.

Worldwide Devotional Talk to Youth, Hope of Israel

1.       Take your questions directly to your Heavenly Father in prayer.  Ask Him to guide you.

2.      Listen to the counsel of your parents and church leaders.

3.      You are invited to be part of the greatest cause on earth- the gathering of Israel.  Everyone deserves to hear the gospel.  He invited every young man and young woman to enlist in the youth battalion of the Lord to help gather Israel.

a.      Read daily from the Book of Mormon

b.      Disengage from a constant reliance on social media in order to decrease its worldly influence upon you by holding a seven-day fast from social media.  A seven -day break from fake.  Notice how you feel and think.  Notice if there are thing you want to stop or start doing.

c.       Make a weekly sacrifice of time to the Lord.  For three weeks, give up something you like to do and spend that time helping someone.

d.      Do a thorough life assessment with the Lord and perhaps with parents and/ or bishop.  Keep on the covenant path.  Come back through repentance.

e.      Pray daily that all of God’s children might receive the blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

f.        Stand out.  Be different.  Be a light.  Wear “weird” as a badge of honor.  Set a standard for the rest of the world.

g.     Read “For the Strength of Youth prayerfully.  Read it and study it.  Talk about it.  Give “For the Strength of Youth” to someone.
