Appendectomy

Our Brielle is a student at BYU.  She is amazing.  She has health challenges, but powers through them.  Recently, she was really sick,  so went to the emergency room.  They determined she had appendicitis and scheduled an emergency appendectomy.  Her mom contacted Michelle's husband, Brian and he dropped everything and drove to Provo to give her a priesthood blessing and stay with her until Kristen could get there.  What a great guy! The surgery went well.  Kristen spent a couple of days with her.  She helped her get caught up on her laundry and made some freezer meals for her.

Appendicitis is a familial trait.  Ken had his appendix removed while he was a young missionary in Japan.  Many of his siblings have had theirs removed.  His grandpa died while still a young father of a burst appendix.  Sorry Brielle!  It's in your genes.

Kristen sent me this picture.  She put my name on the hospital's breast cancer survivor tree while she was there with Brielle.  It is the only picture I have of this event.
