We got home from our cruise late Saturday night. We had a very busy Sunday, then Tom and Joan came on Monday to visit for a few days. Traditionally, they come each year for spring break, but it has been a few years since they have come.
They arrived Monday afternoon, and Tom and Ken golfed. We all went to dinner at Café Sabors that evening.
Tuesday, Ken, Tom, and Joan went hiking in Zions National Park. It was beautiful, but the crowds were crazy!
That evening, I made dinner: French dip sandwiches and this very rich dessert.
While I was at young women's that evening, Tom, Joan, and Ken hiked the temple sandstone quarry trail.
Wednesday morning, Tom flew back to Boise to work. Ken worked in the temple and Joan and I attended Keynote rehearsal. Joan is an honorary member of the Keynotes. We met Ken for lunch at Sakura after shopping a while.
We made a salmon dinner that evening. Joan bought me materials and taught me how to crochet the blankets she has been making.
She made this one for Whitney |
This is the one I've been working on. I love doing it while we watch a movie. |
Joan left early Thursday morning. She is on the BYU alumni board- chairman over all of the mountain west chapters. She has done a lot of good in that capacity. She drove to Provo that morning to attend the BYU alumni board meetings for the next few days. It was her last meeting, as she has served her term. They honored her with a beautiful clock.
Thank you so much for coming, Joan and Tom!
