Setting Apart and MTC

We were set apart as missionaries on Sunday, December 6th.  Getting ready for this has been a tremendous challenge and it was a peaceful feeling to go and be set apart.

Tiffany, Melanie, and Don and Ada came for our setting apart.  It was nice to have them there.  We were set apart by President Almquist.  We had some beautiful blessings pronounced upon us.

Do we look any different?

Packed and ready to go!

At the St. George Airport, ready to go.

They decorate the MTC beautifully at Christmas time.

The Obligatory Picture in Front of the Famous Missionary Map

I have waited a very long time to wear my Savior's name on my chest.  It's too bad I can't read it!

My handsome companion

I had to snap a picture after the MTC devotional on Tuesday evening.  The massive army taking the gospel to all the world is awe-inspiring.  We heard Sister Bonnie Oscarson, Young Women General President speak.  She gave a beautiful talk- right to me!  It included the movie of the Currant Bush given by Hugh B. Brown.  That is my story!  Clip, clip, clip~

We enjoyed the people in our district.  We spent a lot of time with these people during our week at the MTC.  Back row: The Wilsons- going to St. George Mission- Cove Fort, The Nopes- going to Texas, The Abbots- going to SLC mission office, The Hintons-going to Japan.

Us with the Nopes and our favorite teacher, Sister Elliason.  Sister Elliason served her mission in Fukuoka, Japan.  She was such a good teacher.
We so enjoyed our week in the MTC.  We learned so much from those young returned missionaries.  It was intense, but wonderful training. We finished our training on Friday afternoon.  On Saturday, Shonna and Blake and family kidnapped us for the weekend.

We started with lunch at the Cougar Eat.

Little Hannah walked right up to this stranger and climbed on her lap and started eating her fries.

We drove by the Provo Tabernacle-Temple.  It is absolutely gorgeous.

After checking into our hotel, we went to temple square to view the gorgeous Christmas lights.

We ended the day with dinner at Big H's.  It was such a fun day.

On Sunday, we attended church in a local ward.  We didn't know until we got there that it was a Spanish branch.  It just warmed me up for hearing church in a foreign language.

The Last Supper.  After Blake and Shonna left us on Sunday, we walked to a local restaurant to get dinner.  It was delicious.  We shared this dessert.
And the next morning we were off for Japan.  Stay tuned for that post.
