The fact that the word dark is in the title is no
accident. This book has a dark feeling
from beginning to end. It is beautifully
written and has a powerful them of family.
It is a mystery that unfolds little by little throughout the book. It has received much attention and critical
acclaim and I understand why. But I
really can’t say I enjoyed it. Though it
certainly kept my interest, I was glad when it was over. Coming full circle- it was dark.
