Tuesday was also overcast and rainy, but we went forward with our plans. I did the devotional on Tuesday. I had the kids help me tell the story of the Anti-Nephi-Lehis. I gave them each a sword and asked them to write some behavior on it that they want to bury away and never do again. Each one did, then we buried them deep in Shonna's treasure chest. At the end of the reunion, they each took their sword to bury at home. There should be no fighting going on in their homes now, considering how many chose to write "fighting" on their sword.
There were hundreds of garter snakes and the kids had so much fun catching them and holding them. They wanted their picture taken with them. |
I love to walk, but I sure like benches every once in a while to rest. |
Looking for snakes and fish |
Jaron said that one of his favorite activities of the reunion was the hike where we caught snakes. |
Shonna said this walk was one of her favorite activities of the reunion. |
We kept our eye on the sky as a storm was coming in. |
When the first sprinkles came, we packed up the balls and headed inside with the promise that we would do it again. Many of the children listed the hamster balls as one of their favorite activities of the reunion (Caleb, Lily, Gabe, Audrey, Brielle, and Gabbi)

Michelle was in charge of games. She led the group in Rollickn'- a team charades- type game. Everyone had so much fun. |

Several months ago, Michelle shared with Shonna a great website that sells modest swimsuits. They had no idea until they came out in their suits that they had chosen very similar ones. |

So fun to relive the day! Those hamster balls really are awesome. The “ Burying our swords“ lesson was so well done.
