The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes by Ruth Hogan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A well-written study of grief and working through the pain of losing a child. It is a wonderful plot, fabulous characters, and a heart-wrenching study of emotion. The language deserves a warning. I wonder if it is a cultural difference? I have read three novels set in England lately, and all three use the “F” word freely. Other offensive language- not as much. Could that be less offensive in their culture? Anyway, it is a well-written, thought-provoking novel. I keep thinking about it- long after I finished it.
