The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The book is well named. It is adventure after adventure. Touted as the greatest American novel, it lives up to the promise of being exciting and well-written. I think I started it when I was a youngster (my old book says it cost 60 cents) but couldn’t abide the king and duke, and quit when I had had enough of them back then. I am glad I powered through this time (they get their due) but still liked some parts and some characters better than others. I loved Huck and Jim the best. And now I can say I have read the greatest American novel ever written!
