This is one of the most beautiful books I have read recently, well, ever. It is beautifully written. It is full of love, culture, family, turmoil, history, and heartbreak. Reading about the Spanish flu pandemic and comparing it with our current one was enlightening. Living through the struggles and joys of the Morales family, learning to love each family member and learn their traditions was a moving and cultural journey. The story moved me to my core. I cried through the last several chapters. The audio version is so well done. Without hesitation, I award it 5 stars. I wish there were more stars to give.
