We enjoyed this true story of a most unusual friendship between Queen Victoria in her old age and a peasant from India. All evidence of the history of this relationship was eradicated by Victoria's jealous son after her death. But many years later, Abdul's journal was found where he had recorded about their friendship and their day to day dealings with one another. The movie is based on those journal entries. We think you would really like it. We watched it on Netflix DVD.
