Park City, Utah

We drove from Logan to Park City on the afternoon of July 4th. We had condos (set up way before COVID) scheduled for the next two weeks: The first week in Park City, Utah and the next in Avon, Colorado.  We decided to go ahead and go and be diligent in keeping ourselves safe from the virus by bringing supplies to sanitize our room before moving in, wearing masks, not getting on an elevator with anyone else, avoiding people, etc.
We stayed in a very nice place in Park City.  Ken got up early each day and went on a hike.  I or we (if he was back) went to the pool for an hour each morning at 8:30am.  You had to schedule a time so crowds could be avoided.  We had the pool to ourselves each day or with 1-3 other people.  I loved this hour of the day.  I haven't been able to go to the pool at the gym since March and I have really missed it.  Ken rode his bicycle three times while we were there as well.  Otherwise, we stayed in the condo and read, worked on this blog, Ken worked on his history, I indexed and worked on family history.  We cooked our own food (we used Walmart pick up) or curbside pickup from restaurants.  We went on a drive and just relaxed.
Following are some pictures Ken took on his hikes:

On Sunday, Ken grilled chicken (you had to schedule the grills as well to avoid crowds)

We stopped at roadside fruit stand and bought berries, jams, tomatoes, etc.

Ken was intrigued with this memorial up on the mountain to Sam Jackenthal.  He came back and googled it and found that he was a young man, an excellent and promising skier who died in a skiing accident in Australia.  His family created this memorial for him high on the mountain.

I spent the week working on this blog, family history, indexing, reading, reading, and reading.  It was a wonderful, relaxing week.  We cooked in some days and did curbside pick-up a couple of days.  Though it was not what we had planned for the week (we had hoped to visit many temples in the valley and eat in restaurants and shop and visit art galleries,) it was still nice to get out of the heat and enjoy the mountains.
