The Garden is Gone
With an overnight freeze looming, we had our last picking from the garden, and, sure enough, it is frozen now. Our garden has been good to us this year. We've had an abundance of green peppers, and I have a freezer full of quart bags of chopped green peppers to prove it. We had tomatoes to the end, but the real surprise was the squash. We had yellow summer squash until just a few weeks ago, and zucchini to the bitter end. Never before have we had zucchini in November. That's thanks to a magic formula that Ken's brother Don shared with him to kill squash bugs. It truly was magic. So, it's over for now. The neighbors will be glad that we will no longer be tormenting them with our offerings . . . at least until next summer!
